“She can’t have done it all by herself” –

The 22-year-old, biological mother of the newborn found dead on August 9, in the garden of a villa in Vignale di Traversetolo, in the province of Parma, reportedly gave birth alone in the family home, “without the collaboration or presence of anyone.” In fact, no one knew about her pregnancy: neither her family, nor the baby’s father, nor her friends. The actions carried out by the young woman were made public by the prosecutor, in a note signed by the prosecutor, Alfonso D’Avino. Thanks to DNA, a few weeks after the discovery, at the end of August, the identity of the girl was identified, now investigated for murder and concealment of a corpse. In recent days, the results of the autopsy performed on the newborn’s body revealed that the child was born alive. In these hours, moreover, the prosecutor of the Emilian city also confirmed a second discovery, that is, the remains of the body of another newborn, again in the same garden of the villa in Vignale and the question is whether the two cases could be connected.

The young woman’s boyfriend was also unaware of the pregnancy. The boy’s mother, in an interview with Corriere della Sera, says that her son knew nothing and had no role in the affair. But she does not fully believe the version of the Prosecutor’s Office. “She cannot have done it all by herself, it is not possible,” the woman repeats. “My son is innocent of any accusation. We knew it. But now it is clear to everyone, even in the village,” she says. The woman reiterates that the girl had no visible signs of pregnancy. On the discovery of a second little body, which is currently being investigated, she says: “You can have an unexpected child, even if contraceptives exist. But you cannot make two mistakes. And you cannot kill.”

The boy’s mother claims that she would have kept the child and has harsh words for the girl’s family: “I don’t want to have anything to do with them anymore. This story has already hurt my family too much”, and “I don’t want to hear from her either. I just want her to explain why she did what she did. I don’t forgive her” and “I want justice”, “whoever made a mistake must pay”.
