The director’s salary has reached heights
It should come as no surprise that, in principle, everyone’s salary should be rising – taking into account inflation and rising prices, it is common practice to increase salaries a little each year.
And here is the salary of the director of Kėdainiai Hospital, Edita Vaškevičienė, compared to her predecessor’s salary, not by a little, but by all of 43.5%.
In 2020, the salary of the head of the hospital, Rita Kuodienė, amounted to 54.2 thousand. EUR per year – 4.5 thousand. euros per month. However, by paying such a salary, E. Vaškevičienė should have received a little more than 64 thousand during the last year. euros per year. It is clear that the total amount paid out was 13.5 thousand. euros higher – this is exactly how much the variable part of the salary was.
Assigns according to the procedure provided by law
As the municipal doctor Sandra Buinovskienė explained, the fixed part of the salary of the head of the hospital is determined by multiplying the weighted average of the average monthly salary of the one-time doctors and nurses of the institution they manage for the previous calendar year by a coefficient that is calculated taking into account the following criteria: in the previous calendar year from Compulsory Health the amount of income received by the insurance fund budget and the number of positions actually occupied by doctors (including dentists) and nurses (including midwives) in the previous calendar year.
Although the number of staff at the hospital decreased, the PSD funds received increased by 2 million. euros.
The variable part of the salary depends on whether the institution had a net profit during the year or attracted additional sources of financing. More things are also evaluated – such as the duration of treatment of patients, the number of expensive tests carried out with PSD funds, anti-corruption measures applied in the institution.
There is no increase in the salary of doctors
E. Vaškevičienė, who emphasized more than once that she is increasing the salary of doctors, seems unable to prove it with figures in the annual activity report.
On the contrary, in the 2022 report of the Kėdainiai hospital, strange numbers are seen, which show that, compared to last year, salaries for doctors not only did not increase, but also decreased.
Salary of the deputy director
This is if in 2021, when the hospital was temporarily headed by Rita Kuodienė, the average salary of a doctor was 3.2 thousand. euros, then in 2022 it decreased, albeit slightly, to 3.19 thousand. euros.
