A woman regarding to give birth arrived with her husband at the Pope Francisco hospital in the city of Salta and did not receive medical assistance to give birth, for which she had to do it alone on the street, following “hospital employees” told the man that “they had no staff” and that he should take her to another care center.
According to the complaint made by the baby’s father and images that went viral, the employees did not want to call an ambulance either and from SAME they told him that he should go to the Maternal and Child Hospital, in the north of the city, so when trying to board a remís, the woman had her daughter on the street.
After learning regarding the case, the Salta government began an investigation and instituted an administrative summary. Hours following what happened, Minister Mangione stressed that “the mother is stable and the baby had a clavicle fracture and a head injury but is recovering well.” He further indicated that the woman “required help and she did not provide it.
