Shazam: iPhone music recognition now syncs with Shazam history

It’s been some time since Apple introduced the music recognition service Shazam (App Store-Link) take over. Since then, the service has been increasingly integrated into its own operating systems. For example, there has been a music recognition function in the iPhone control center since 2020, which is processed via Shazam and makes it quick and easy to discover unknown songs and artists. This does not require the Shazam app itself to be present on the iPhone.

With the now released update for Shazam, Apple’s music recognition function can now be synchronized on all devices with the same Apple ID. The team of MacRumors discovered this feature and reports that anyone using at least iOS 15 on their iPhones can use it. The App Store says about the new feature in Shazam in version 15.14:

“Songs identified with music detection in Control Center are now synced to the Shazam app. Never tried it? It’s a quick and easy way to discover music in other apps, and it even works with headphones. Add music recognition in Control Center via your Settings.”

Before the update, music recognition users were unable to save their history without the Shazam app. To add music recognition to Control Center, navigate to iPhone Settings, select Control Center, and tap the + icon in the Music Recognition list entry. This can then be used quickly and easily via a small button in the control center.
