We had⁣ the pleasure of catching up with rising star Shauna Scanlon ahead of her highly anticipated Christmas gig‍ at ‍Gallen’s Bar in⁤ Ballybofey.







Shauna,thanks for ​joining​ us! You’ve had a remarkable ‍year,starting with the release of your⁢ debut EP and even​ performing your hit single‍ “Brand New” on Virgin Media ‌One’s Six O’clock Show.⁢ What has been your highlight so far?





It’s definitely been a whirlwind! My highlight‍ has to ⁣be seeing how people have responded to my music.‌ having ​my song played on national television was amazing, but seeing people connect⁣ with it beyond the screen and sing‍ along at gigs ⁣has been truly special.









To close out the year, you’re putting on a Christmas concert with a fantastic lineup of local‍ talent. Can you tell us more about that?





I’m really excited about ‌this gig! DeepPsyche ​and‌ Jason Deery are ‍both incredibly talented musicians,⁤ and Paddy McMenamin is a brilliant MC. It’s going to ‌be a‍ fun night of festive music and community spirit.





What can your fans expect from your Christmas setlist?





Ther will be a mix of my ​original songs, some⁢ festive classics, and ​maybe a few surprises. It’s about ⁤getting everyone in the holiday spirit and having a good time.









What are your hopes for the ⁢future, Shauna?





I want to keep writing, performing,⁣ and connecting with people through ⁤my music. Long⁢ term, I’d love to​ tour and share⁤ my music with a ‌wider audience.







Do you think⁣ it’s⁣ important for artists to⁤ engage with their local community, ​particularly during ⁢festive periods? What can local ‌councils and businesses do ⁣to support up-and-coming musicians ⁢like yourself?









Absolutely. Music has the power to bring people together, especially during times of celebration. Local support from venues, councils, and businesses is‌ crucial. **Shauna Scanlon:** It’s been an absolute whirlwind,to be honest! Every moment has felt like a dream come true,from seeing the EP finally released to getting that incredible possibility on The Six O’clock Show. It was such a surreal experience performing in front of the cameras, and the response to “Brand New” has been truly overwhelming. I think that performance was definitely a highlight, but honestly, just connecting with people through my music, big or small gigs, that’s what makes it all worthwhile.



**Archyde:** To close out the year, you’re putting on a Christmas concert with a fantastic lineup of local talent. Can you tell us more about that?



**Shauna Scanlon:** We’re having a big Christmas bash at gallen’s Bar in Ballybofey this Thursday! It’s going to be a night filled with festive cheer,local talent,and lots of fun. I’m so excited to share the stage with DeepPsyche, a fantastic local band, and the incredibly talented songwriter Jason Deery. And the best part? Entry is wholly free!



**Archyde:** What can your fans expect from your Christmas setlist?



**Shauna Scanlon:** Expect a mix of festive classics with a sprinkle of my own originals. I love putting my own spin on some familiar Christmas tunes, and of course, we’ll be playing some fan favourites from my EP. It’s going to be a vrey energetic and joyful set, perfect for getting everyone in the holiday spirit!



**Archyde:** What are your hopes for the future, Shauna?



**Shauna Scanlon:** I’m simply thrilled to be doing what I love for a living. My biggest hope is to keep connecting with people through my music, to keep growing as an artist, and to keep sharing my passion with the world.



**Archyde:** Do you think it’s crucial for artists to engage with their local community, notably during festive periods? What can local councils and businesses do to support up-and-coming musicians like yourself?



**Shauna Scanlon:** Absolutely! The local community is everything. They’ve been so supportive of my journey,and I want to give back as much as I can. Christmas is a great time to come together and celebrate, and I love that this Christmas gig gives local artists a platform to showcase their talent and spread some holiday cheer.Local councils and businesses can be invaluable in supporting emerging artists.Providing spaces for performances,sponsoring local events,and simply spreading the word about local talent can make a huge difference. It’s about creating a strong sense of community and showing that they believe in the power of local art.
