Shaun Williams’ century, Zimbabwe set Pakistan a target of 279 runs

Zimbabwe set Pakistan a target of 279 runs for victory in the third ODI thanks to Shaun Williams’ brilliant century.

In the third and final ODI match of the series being played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Zimbabwe captain Chamu Chibaba decided to bat first after seeing the toss flipped in his favour.

When Zimbabwe started batting, Muhammad Hasanin played a good spell and dismissed Zimbabwean captain Chamu Chibaba without giving him a chance to open the account.

The visiting team was not even able to cope with the loss that Hasnain ended the innings of Craig Aaron in his next over.

After two wickets fell for 4 runs, Brendan Taylor and Brian Chari combined for four wickets and both of them took the score to 22 but Hasnain scattered Chari’s wickets to give Pakistan their third win.

After the fall of 3 wickets, Shaun Williams came to support Brend Taylor and both the players started to push the score while batting well.

The two experienced players completed the team’s century and also established a partnership of 84 runs for the fourth wicket, but Hasnain once again ended Taylor’s innings with 56 runs, giving Pakistan a major victory.

Wesley Medvere then came on to join Shaun Williams and the duo put on another solid partnership for Zimbabwe, with the duo putting on another fine partnership for Zimbabwe, a 75-run partnership that ended when Hasnain caught Medvere off his own ball. He accomplished the feat of taking five wickets.

After the fall of five wickets, the pair of Sikandar Raza and Shaun Williams took care of Hasnain’s bowling but after completing their quota of 10 overs, all the rest of the Pakistani bowlers looked helpless in front of the Zimbabwean batsmen.

Williams and Sikandar put up a good partnership to ensure their team reached a decent total and put on a 96-run stand for the sixth wicket.

Shaun Williams scored his third century in ODI cricket with a brilliant performance.

Zimbabwe scored 278 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted overs, Shaun Williams played an unbeaten 118 runs with the help of a six and 13 fours while Sikandar scored 45 runs.

On behalf of Pakistan, Hasnain bowled brilliantly and got 5 wickets for 26 runs while one wicket went to Wahab Riaz.

Earlier, Pakistan made several changes to their team for the match and introduced young batsman Khushdil Shah in place of Imad Wasim.

In the match, Pakistan has included Fakhar Zaman in place of Abid Ali, Mohammad Hasnain in place of Haris Rauf, Wahab Riaz in place of Faheem Ashraf in the team.

Both the teams for the match consist of these players.
