The now 27-year-old Spyridoula from Corfu spoke about the repeated rapes she experienced at the tender age of 12 at the hands of her mother.
The 27-year-old Spyridoula spoke on the Live News show about being raped from the age of 12 until she was 15 by her mother, who pushed her into prostitution in Corfu.
“When I was 12 years old, my mother brought men to the house, they raped me for 50-100 euros. When I didn’t want to, they poured ouzo on me and beat me. It was done daily at home.
In other words, she knew the specific men, they were known, she knew them and brought them home. In other words, she convinced them to come and have sex with me for 50 or 100 euros. She was taking the money,” he pointed out.
Her mother will sit in the defendant’s dock as what Spyridoula testified was so chilling that they brought this horrific case to court.

Her mother pushed her into prostitution. To force her, he beat her or drugged her with ouzo so that she could be raped without her being able to resist. He doesn’t know for sure how many there were, but he remembers at least six names.
Each of them paid 50 or 100 euros at a time, money that her mother reaped. Either they came to their house, or the complainant went to theirs, at inappropriate times.
Spyridoula described to the police the nightmare she lived as a child, with a mother who was indifferent and a father unable to do the slightest thing, struck by cancer. She lost him when she was 8 years old.
The complainant lived under the regime of poverty and neglect. She dropped out of school having attended only primary school and was facing problems of retardation in her psycho-emotional development. She did not receive the required care, as she should, from her close family environment, while her parents refused any help from competent services that was offered to them.
As she reports, she was saved by the neighbors who filed a complaint and the child was taken away from the mother.
“Until I was 15 years old, because then they took me because a complaint was made to the Smile of the Child and they took me to an institution. It was reported by the neighbors above the apartment building. They saw this happening and filed a complaint. Instead of playing with my dolls my mother brought men home… And it hurts. Just because I experienced what I raped, I am in pain. I mean, I can’t sleep, I’m scared,” he says.
The mother denies everything
Her mother never admitted her daughter’s claims. Instead, he claims it’s all lies. “I deny everything. None of this is true. The men visiting us were friends of my partner and the father of our daughter and they were coming to convince him to take his medication, because he had cancer and would not accept it from me. My child made these complaints as a reaction to me for the eventual death of her father,” the defendant claims.
Spyridoula had a bad time. She was homeless, went through orphanages. She went where they took her. “I’m homeless. They took me from here, from the orphanage and took me to Athens. I went to primary school. I went and gave it up. My mother forced me to give it up. When the Investigator called me, I had to say that it didn’t happen because he (my mother) threatened to kill me,” he said.
Despite the fact that at some point Spyridoula took everything back, under the threats of her mother, the investigative authorities were not convinced and considered that her initial statements were those that described the horror that this woman had experienced today, when she was a child. The result was criminal prosecution against her mother.
The 27-year-old’s mother is in the dock
As journalist Dionysis Mamalo reported on Live News, at the behest of the Corfu Juvenile Board, the 27-year-old’s mother is being referred to the audience of the joint jury to be tried for the criminal acts of moral abetment in the rape and pimping of a 15-year-old minor years.
