In the case of a man who was apparently killed with an ax in Vienna-Favoriten, the suspect stated during his interrogation that the victim was an acquaintance. He admitted to investigators that he had consumed alcohol and crystal meth before the crime, but otherwise could not remember anything, the police reported. The 45-year-old informed the executive himself about the body in his apartment on Monday.
The Austrian’s last memory was of consuming alcohol and drugs, he told the criminal investigators. “The investigation, particularly to clarify the identity of the victim, is still ongoing,” said a spokesman. According to the 45-year-old, the two men were occasionally in contact.
In an “amorous” relationship
According to APA information, the two were probably in some kind of romantic relationship and also arranged to have sex. In any case, the victim is likely to be a much younger man who may also have had a connection to the drug community and is also said to have prostituted himself. It is now certain that the suspected Austrian is a drug addict.
The 45-year-old’s lawyer, Astrid Wagner, emphasized that the crime should be viewed against the background of drug use. Everything else is still the subject of investigations, said Wagner, referring to the forensic work that was still ongoing in the residential building in Favoriten on Tuesday. She did not provide any information about the identity of the victim or the relationship between the two men.
Murder reported to the police in Linz

The Upper Austrian officials then alerted their colleagues in Vienna. Immediately afterwards, a WEGA team rushed to the apartment on the Bloch-Bauer-Promenade in the Sonnwendviertel and broke down the door of the apartment. The police actually found a dead man there whose body had massive injuries. An ax was seized as the suspected murder weapon.
