Shashi Tharoor to file nomination on 30th, only hours away, unopposed

New Delhi: Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor will submit nomination papers on September 30 to contest for the post of Congress President. Party Central Election Authority Chairman Madhusudhanan Mistry informed that Shashi Tharoor’s representative informed about this.

Meanwhile, AICC Treasurer Pawan Bansal had received the nomination form the other day, but it has now been informed that he will not contest.

The time to submit nominations is from September 24 to 30. The last date for withdrawal of nomination is October 8. The candidate’s picture will be shown at five o’clock that evening. If polling is required, it will be held on October 17. Counting of votes will take place on October 19 and the announcement of the new president will be made on the same day.

It was thought that Shashi Tharoor and Ashok Gehlot would be in the contest, but the discussions have been diverted due to the dispute over the post of Chief Minister of Rajasthan.
With this, Congress workers are looking forward to see who will be Tharoor’s opponent.

It is also noteworthy that except for Tharoor, no one else has yet made a public response, even though there are only hours left for the submission of papers.

At the same time, active discussions are also going on at the Congress headquarters. Last night, Sonia summoned former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath. But he told the media that he is not in the race. Senior leader AK Antony has been asked to come to Delhi today.
