American actress Sharon Stone revealed that one of her most famous roles in American cinema caused her to lose custody of her son in 2004.
Sharon confirmed in a podcast that her famous glow in the 1992 film Basic Instinct caused distorted images of her.
The famous American actress recalled the judge’s question to her four-year-old son at the time, when he said to him, “Do you know that your mother makes sexual films?”
She says the backlash over one of the film’s nude scenes caused her to avoid similar roles.
Sharon and her then-husband, Ron Bronstein, adopted their son, Rowan, in 2000. But when the couple divorced in 2004, a judge awarded custody to Bronstein.
Losing custody of the son left Sharon deeply distressed, she told her host, Bruce Posey, on the podcast.
“I ended up at the Mayo Clinic, where I had tachycardia in the upper and lower chambers of my heart (atrium and ventricle),” Sharon added. “It literally broke my heart.”
She lamented what she had been through, and explained that judging by the amount of sex and nudity on television today, her treatment following the hit movie was harsh.
She continued, “I saw maybe regarding 16 seconds of potential nudity of me.” I lost custody of my child.”
Sharon said others in Hollywood judged her for her role in the sultry thriller, when she played Catherine Tramell, a novelist who seduces a police detective, played by Michael Douglas.
In the film, Stone’s character seduces the detective who pursues her, and the scene in which he spreads her legs and then crosses her leg becomes one of cinema’s most famous and exciting scenes.
And she recounted a strange situation she had recently had following being nominated for an important award, and she said, “I was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for this part, and when I went to the Golden Globes and they called my name, a group of people in the room laughed.”
“I was so humiliated,” she added. “I was in a daze. Does anyone have any idea how hard it is to play this role? How painful and scary can it be?”
The American actress confirmed that she now avoids roles that sexualize women or show them with dark personalities. However, she added that fans should not confuse the reality of the cast with the characters they represent.
Sharon concluded that the man who played the role of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer, “no one believes that [شخص] People eat.” “It makes him a very complex person who has taken on a very difficult role.”
