Sharon Stone names producer who demanded she sleep with co-star to make him perform better

Sharon Stone has revealed the identity of the film producer who she claims demanded she sleep with her 1993 co-star Sliver to improve his acting performance – writes the Guardian.

The actress already reported on the incident in her 2021 memoir, but did not mention names then. Now the Louis Theroux podcastban she said Robert Evans, head of the Paramount production company, told her to have sex with William Baldwin. Evans died in 2019.

According to the Hollywood star, Evans argued that it was the actress’s responsibility to turn up Baldwin’s dirty game, and the best way to do that was to sleep with him.

“Evans was running around his office wearing sunglasses and explaining that he slept with Ava Gardner and I should sleep with Billy Baldwin because then his performance would be better,” the actress recalled the meeting.

According to Stone, Evans thought that having the actress and Baldwin have sex would improve their on-screen chemistry, and accused the actress that her stubbornness would be the downfall of the film.

According to the actress, however, the producers are to blame for the bad casting. “I didn’t have to fuck Michael Douglas. Because Michael knew exactly what to do, how to say his lines, how to rehearse and appear on set,” he said. Stone and Douglas starred together in 1992’s Elementary Instinct.

William Baldwin responded to Sharon Stone’s statements on X on Wednesday morning.

“I don’t know why Sharon Stone is still talking regarding me following all these years? Maybe because he’s still in love with me, or is he still hurt following all these years because I turned him away?”

Baldwin wrote that he also knows a lot of dirty stories regarding Stone, and might even write a book regarding the “many, many disturbing, perverted and unprofessional stories.”

According to the actor, he also visited Robert Evans’ office during the filming of the film and begged him to choreograph their last sex scene so that he didn’t have to kiss the actress.

Sharon Stone also spoke openly regarding being sexually harassed by a former head of the Sony studio in the 1980s. According to the actress, the man, whom she did not name, showed her his penis when she went to his office for a meeting in the 1980s. The incident took place long before Stone became an international star in the films Basic Instinct and 1995’s Casino.

The actress noted at the time that she always accepts apologies from Hollywood men who have wronged her over the years, telling those who don’t apologize: “Don’t ever sit next to me once more, because if you sit next to me once more, who I’m going to stand in front of the public and I’m going to say: ‘I told you not to sit next to me'”.

Although Elementary Instinct did not raise the actress to star status, it did not turn out well later either: according to Stone, she lost custody of her son in 2004 because of her role in the film. The actor claimed in a podcast in 2023 that the famous scene and the role – he played a writer who seduces a police detective played by Michael Douglas – distorted the image of him. Stone and ex-husband Ron Bronstein adopted their son Roan in 2000, and when they filed for divorce four years later, Stone says the judge asked the then-four-year-old, “Did you know your mom makes sex movies?”
