Tiburones de La Guaira completed the sweep of Caribes de Anzoátegui this Tuesday after winning 7-2 at the Universitario stadium in Caracas, in one more day of the 2024/2025 season of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP).
The current champions, who also beat La Tribu 5-2 on Monday in the same venue, turned the score around after starting losing 1-0 from the second episode. The salty team were forceful on offense and scored three goals in the fourth chapter, two in the seventh and a couple more in the eighth.
The challenge in the capital city also marked the debut of Ricardo Pinto, who was vital in the sharks’ title both in the national rental circuit and in the Caribbean Series.
Pinto worked four innings in which he only allowed two hits (one of them a solo home run by Balbino Fuenmayor), walked twice and struck out six of the 14 batters he faced.
For his part, Gabriel Aguilera was the starter for the aboriginal team. He worked three acts, allowed three scores and took the loss.

Bravos de Margarita fell 5-2 to Águilas del Zulia at the Luis Aparicio stadium in Maracaibo, while Cardenales de Lara beat the Leones del Caracas 18-2 at the Monumental Simón Bolívar.
This Wednesday hairy and twilight faces will meet again in the capital city. Insulares and raptors will also measure forces on Marabino soil, while La Tribu visits Tigres de Aragua.
