A group of Cubans captured a huge blue shark on the Malecón in Havana, as it has gone viral on social networks.
The images show the fish tied with ropes and surrounded by people. The species in question is a pelagic shark that inhabits warm and temperate waters, such as the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico, and is characterized by its bright blue coloration on the upper part of the body.
“Shark in La Punta del Malecón habanero”, wrote the user Dior Ruiz on Facebook with several images of the captured animal.
The publication has hundreds of comments from people impressed with the appearance of such an animal on the Cuban coast, as well as other messages rejecting the hunting of endangered marine species.
The regime’s spokesperson, Cubadebate, spoke regarding it, recalling that in Decree-Law No. 31 “On animal welfare”, approved in February 2021, in its chapter XI, the commercialization, transport, possession, capture , reproduction and any other action related to animal management.
