The Department of Public Works announced the winners of the fifth cycle of the Institutional Excellence Award “Irtiqaq”, which targets organizational units and all their employees, as part of its keenness to adopt the concept of excellence and motivate employees to innovate and create.

It also aims to achieve the articles of its strategic plan, especially its ninth goal of ensuring the application of standards of quality and institutional excellence, in line with its relentless efforts to apply best practices in institutional work, and to promote a culture of excellence, in line with the aspirations of the Sharjah government aimed at achieving the highest professional standards and practices.

Eng. Hind Nasser, Director of the Center for Strategic Planning and Quality in the department, confirmed that this honor comes from the department’s belief in the importance of motivating employees towards continuing excellence in performance and excellence in giving and their motivation to develop their capabilities, establish a culture of job excellence and motivate those with outstanding performance, and accelerate their advancement opportunities to leadership positions. In a way that contributes to the creation of competent leaders and encourages them to develop their skills and knowledge, as well as enhance their positive competitiveness, and move forward to do everything that achieves the department’s vision, goals and future aspirations. While Shaima Khalifa, Head of the Quality and Excellence Department, indicated that the award this year was divided into 5 categories, and carried a number of positive goals and values ​​that the department is keen to spread among employees, including urging initiative and innovation in all fields of work in the field and administrative, and encouraging the spirit of competition and excellence, Spreading a culture of quality, and contributing to providing an appropriate work environment conducive to continuous development and improvement.

Among the most prominent categories of the award: administrative, technical and engineering excellence, as this category is concerned with upgrading the level of urban and engineering projects. In customer service, the distinguished employee category was in customer happiness. As for the groups, the most prominent categories were the Distinguished Organizational Unit Award, the Distinguished Section, and the Distinguished Division.

She said, “With this award, we seek to value competencies, honor those with achievements, spread a culture of excellence among employees, and invite all employees to enter the race for excellence in the current session in order to preserve the cultural achievements and gains achieved by the department over the past decades.”

The department was keen to launch the “Rise Up” award, to be a real addition and support for the hardworking, honoring the distinguished, a moral and material incentive for the innovators, and encouraging competition, cooperation and positivity among employees, to provide the best services to the customers, in addition to promoting initiatives that spread positive energy among the department’s employees towards more success. Achievement and success.

The department confirmed that the award falls within the framework of its relentless pursuit to meet the aspirations of our wise leadership by showing positive energy as a way to achievement, creativity and excellence.

The award was subject to various criteria, as each category of the program was evaluated according to the nature of the specialized category specified within the categories of the award, the most prominent of which was initiative, creativity, cooperation, job commitment, participation, responsibility, performance and achievement, with continuous learning, and was supervised by a neutral arbitration committee that included a group of residents and experts. It included Dr. Jabr Badr, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the International Academy for Creativity and Excellence, Mona Al-Ghawi, Director of the Strategy Office at Sharjah Media City, and Hamid Al-Kindi, a certified assessor from the Sharjah Police General Command.

Engineer Rashid Al Shaer, from the General Services Department, who won the award for the best employee in the technical field, confirmed that he deserved the award following several initiatives and activities, in which he contributed to achieving the objectives of the strategic plan, green energy projects, and the use of environmentally friendly materials in projects.

The employee, Aisha Al Hosani, the winner in the category of distinguished employee in customer happiness, confirmed that rooting the culture of excellence proves that it does not end and will continue. And she feels proud of her belonging to the department.

Imran Ali, winner of the Distinguished Employee in the Administrative Field, explained that the award is an incentive to encourage colleagues to innovate and advance at work.
