Sharjah Roads spends 9.6 million on “old fare” owners

The Roads and Transport Authority in Sharjah has announced the start of disbursing the annual reward for owners of old taxi numbers in the emirate for the year 2021, at a value of 9 million and 672 thousand dirhams, in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, to provide the necessities of life generous to this category of low-income people.

Abdulaziz Al-Jarwan, Director of the Authority for Transport Affairs, revealed the start of disbursing the annual bonus to owners of old taxi numbers, which are currently operated by franchise companies and are under the authority of the Authority.

He said: “This step comes in compliance with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, as part of his keenness to follow up on his children and their living conditions, including owners of old vehicle numbers, to enable them to meet the requirements of life and provide a decent living for them and their families, and to embody the concept of social solidarity prevailing among its members. ».

He explained that the reward disbursement operations take place following fulfilling the conditions and instructions followed in this aspect, especially the submission of documents that prove ownership. He indicated that the competent authorities in the authority are keen on facilitating the procedures for obtaining the reward without any obstacles. He called on owners of vehicle numbers who do not meet the exchange conditions to expedite the completion of all papers and documents required of them and submit them to receive their dues.
