The Sharjah Press Club of the Sharjah Government Media Office won the “Kuwait Award for Creativity” within its tenth session, which was recently held in Kuwait, for the initiative of the annual training program “Ithmar”, which targets students from 10 to 17 years old, to consolidate media awareness among the younger generation and introduce them to the concepts of Journalism and media work.
The award, which is organized by the “Arab Media Forum Authority” and the “Kuwait Society for Media and Communication” and a number of other parties, comes within a special tribute to the club, for the importance of the “Ethmaar” program and its distinguished contribution in building a media generation, through an interactive approach that mixes training and knowledge with pleasure, and an appreciation for the excellence of the initiative and its impact. and its tangible repercussions on the new generations.
The “Ethmaar” program was launched in 2019, in line with the approach of the Emirate of Sharjah emanating from the thought of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and his great interest in building children and youth in various fields and sectors.
The award, which received its tenth session with the participation of 1081 participants from various Arab countries, supports the club’s visions in promoting and spreading media culture among young people, developing their media talents, and motivating them to practice journalistic work, in a way that contributes to building media competencies capable of leading media work in the future, according to visions and directions. UAE.
The “Ithmar” program aims to qualify its participants in the media sector and content industry and enhance their knowledge in a scientific way that combines the theoretical and practical aspects, with field visits to media institutions that give them the opportunity to get acquainted with the details and progress of media work.
Over the course of its past four sessions, the program has received 240 applications to join, and 89 male and female students have graduated so far.
