Sharjah | Sharjah Indian Association elections postponed. The postponement announcement came amid preparations to hold the elections on 29th of this month. 110 members have submitted nomination papers to become members of the new governing body.

Last Saturday night, the names of the applicants were published and after scrutiny, the final list was published on Sunday night. 19 of the papers submitted were rejected.

Elections are planned to be held in the first week of December. The reason for the date change is unclear.

Organizations attach great importance to the election to the governing body of the Indian community organization Sharjah Indian Association. It works under the control of the Malayalis. The election phase is an opportunity to voice the public opinion that the activities of the association should evolve to better serve the expatriate community. Here we see the way of competing as fronts, forgetting the political relations and disagreements of the country.
