The external inspection department of the authority confiscated a total of 732 devices and their attachments, with 21 devices confiscated in Kalba and 2 in Khorfakkan. Meanwhile, 10 migratory birds were confiscated in Sharjah alone. In cooperation with the Central Region Police, the inspection teams raided two sites, confiscating two devices. Additionally, a farm was raided, and the aforementioned birds were seized. Three devices were also confiscated from the free zone in cooperation with Sharjah Ports, Customs, and Free Zones Authority in the Hamriyah region. Chairwoman of the Environment and Natural Reserves Authority in Sharjah, Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, noted the agency’s commitment to preservation and protection of the environment, along with spreading environmental awareness in society. The Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah also emphasized the Executive Council’s decision to prevent hunting of wild and migratory birds, implementing Administrative Resolution No. (9) of 2016 and Executive Council Resolution No. (12) of 2014, which prohibit trading, selling, possessing, using, and importing devices that produce the sounds of wild birds in Sharjah. SHARJAH, 4th April / WAM / The campaign of the Environment and Natural Reserves Authority in Sharjah, which is being implemented by the specialized teams during the 2023 wild bird migration season, resulted in the confiscation of 755 bird sounds and 10 migratory birds, and the issuance of 4 violations worth 40,000 dirhams, in the framework of protection Preserving the environment, preserving biodiversity and combating poaching.
The total number of confiscations by the external inspection department of the authority was 732 devices with their attachments, and the number of devices that were confiscated in the city of Kalba was 21 devices, while two devices were confiscated in the city of Khorfakkan, and as for the migratory birds that were confiscated, the number was 10 migratory birds freely in the city of Sharjah only.
The inspection teams raided two sites in cooperation with the Central Region Police, where two devices were confiscated, in addition to a raid on another farm and the aforementioned birds were confiscated, and 3 devices were confiscated from the free zone in cooperation with the Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority in the Hamriyah region.

The Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah stressed the decision of the Executive Council to prevent hunting of wild and migratory birds, which comes within the framework of cooperation in implementing Administrative Resolution No. (9) of 2016 regarding hunting, selling and possessing endangered wild and marine migratory birds in the Emirate of Sharjah, and Executive Council Resolution No. (12) of 2014, regarding the ban on trading, selling, possessing, using and importing devices that produce the sounds of wild birds in the Emirate of Sharjah.
