The Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence, affiliated to the Sharjah Education Council, launched the Al Jawhara Award at the launch ceremony of its new strategy, which was organized yesterday evening at the Al Jawaher Center for Events and Conferences on the occasion of the start of the 28th edition. The ceremony expressed the new vision of the Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence as the first educational award at the state level and its launch under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.
The new strategy of the award, which Sharjah Educational Excellence sought to work with to develop all categories, included three main categories: the distinguished individuals category, the distinguished institutions category, and the category that was created for this version, which is the distinguished work teams category.
During the ceremony, Dr. Saeed Musabah Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Sharjah Education Council, revealed a new exceptional award, the “Jawhara Award”, which honors distinguished people who have done exceptional work for the Emirate of Sharjah and the UAE in achieving an unprecedented achievement that constitutes a real value for the prosperity of the country, explaining that choosing the name of this award came in appreciation. And in honor of the unlimited giving of the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, and her great role in the path of culture and knowledge that she worked on and gave continuous sincere efforts in the love of science and education.
The ceremony highlights the stages of the award’s development over a period of 28 years, which witnessed the winning of many distinguished and many outstanding people who left an imprint and were role models for others in the path of excellence to continue the award’s march of excellence to achieve its lofty goal of spreading the culture of excellence and creativity in the educational field in its various and distinctive forms. The ceremony began with the national anthem, followed by the recitation of fragrant verses from the Noble Qur’an, followed by a recorded paragraph of an archival speech by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah regarding education and the importance of supporting excellence in all its fields.
After that, the audience watched a visual presentation on the history and story of the award, which began in 1994 with the vision of His Highness, the Ruler of Sharjah, to be a pioneering award in the scientific and educational field, and what it sought with strides towards spreading excellence and nurturing the distinguished because of its belief in the importance of excellence in supporting the wheel of development and achieving the sustainable development that it aspires to. The presentation highlighted the award’s efforts to always search for distinguished people and under exceptional circumstances, during which the award continued its mission in its 27th edition and was transformed electronically to keep pace with the many changes.
In his speech during the ceremony, Dr. Saeed Musabah Al Kaabi stressed that the launch of the new strategy of the Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence comes to continue achieving amazing results in the process of developing the educational system, which the Emirate of Sharjah places a top priority, pointing to the importance of relaunching the award strategy to emphasize in all its details the huge educational and cultural project Sharjah highlights the importance of arming generations with science, contributing to building their country and driving its growth, so that the award will remain one of the most prominent educational incubators during the next fifty years. Then the audience watched a visual presentation of the new version of the award, and then watched a talk show on the award’s use of modern applications and award categories.
Mohammed Ahmed Al Mulla, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Education Council, stressed that the award is a project that takes care of education and supports the individual and institutional aspects of creativity to achieve advanced development visions.

Alia Ibrahim Al Hosani, Director of the Sharjah Award for Educational Excellence, confirmed that the award seeks to encourage innovators in accordance with the vision and strategy of the Sharjah Education Council.
