Rays ace left-hander Shan McClanahan will undergo Tommy John surgery, Tampa Bay manager Kevin Cash said before the series opener once morest the Giants.
McClanahan will likely miss the entire 2024 season.
The starter went on the 60-day disabled list Saturday following being diagnosed with a stiff left forearm. He had abandoned his Aug. 2 start following giving up five runs in four innings (82 pitches) once morest the Yankees.
