Even the scene of Zhou Zai and the ghost director’s audition is really one of the scenes of “Pioneer of Thunder”. In the play, the ghost guide Zhou Zai explained that it was the first time he was promoted to be a director to make a movie, so he would rather have a newcomer participate in the role than to be suppressed by a big star. In an earlier interview, Huang Baiwen talked regarding the reasons for the casting, which turned out to be exactly the same as what was said in the dialogue of “Qing”. Huang Baiwen also mentioned that he originally liked another actor who had also just moved from TV to the film industry and became a superstar at the time, but the filming might not be done because of the timing. This section is almost like “Youth Shameless”. Zhou Zai’s role was originally a plot that he wanted to play with Rong Zai (Liu Derong, Yu Decheng).
Huang Baiwen himself graduated from the TVB art training class, and his classmates include Lv Liangwei, Chen Yulian, Liao Weixiong, etc., and later switched to the film industry, working closely with Li Xiuxian, becoming an actor, planning and director. After directing “Thunderbolt Pioneer”, Huang Baiwen asked Zhou Xingchi to film “Wind and Rain”. Later, Huang Baiwen retreated behind the scenes because of cancer. He immigrated to Canada in the mid-1990s and returned to the millennium. In 2012, he signed a contract with TVB to become an artist. It is worth mentioning that it turns out that Huang Baiwen and the famous lyricist Huang Weiwen are cousins!
