“Shame to have the country sunk in poverty”: Salinas Pliego to AMLO

MEXICO CITY.- The businessman Ricardo Salinas Pliego attacked the president Andrés Manuel López Obrador for his comments during the ‘morning’ conference this Thursday.

President López Obrador assured that it would be a “shame to get on one of those yachts in a country with so much poverty, but everyone is free” in reference to the owner of Azteca Bankwith whom he has had several differences and conflicts recently.

Through his social networks, Salinas Pliego assured that it is a shame to “have the country plunged into poverty and violence… And blame it on a yacht.”

He also owns TV Azteca He indicated that he does not have one yacht but two, which were “paid for with my money, not the people’s.”

AMLO denies lawsuit with Salinas Pliego

In today’s ‘morning’, AMLO He stated that he is not lying, as the owner of Salinas Groupand that he would not withdraw the concession to TV Azteca since his government “is not authoritarian” so Salinas Pliego “can continue to fully exercise his freedom.”

The president insisted that there is no dispute with the businessman nor is it a personal matter. He also said he respects those who have money, but he is against those who have wealth under the protection of public power through corruption.
