Villa Maria Welcomes a Decade of Shalaku Folklore and Celebrates the 100th Performance of Trío Mal de Amores
The city of Villa Maria is gearing up for a weekend brimming with music and cultural celebration. Two of the town’s beloved musical ensembles, the Shalaku Folklore Group and Trío Mal de Amores, are marking significant milestones with upcoming performances.
Shalaku Celebrates 10 Years of Sharing Their Passion for Folklore
On Saturday, November 7th, Shalaku will be celebrating a decade of captivating audiences with their vibrant folk music. The group will be showcasing their latest work, “Aves de sal y tierra,” at the Neighborhood Center of Barrio San Justo. Music legends Pablo Vélez and José Santillán expressed their immense pride at reaching this milestone.
“This presentation serves to demonstrate our musical side and summarizes our history. It is a great journey and helps us think about everything we have achieved and our musical projection,” Santillán shared.
Doors open at 9 p.m. and advance tickets, priced at 5,000 pesos, can be purchased via Shalaku Folklore’s social media channels.
Trío Mal de Amores Marks a Century of “COVERSation” With a Special Performance
Meanwhile, Trío Mal de Amores, known for their captivating stage presence and stunning harmonies, will be celebrating the 100th performance of their acclaimed show, “COVERSación Entre Tres.” This special event will take place at Villa Maria’s Teatro Verdi on Thursday, December 19th, at 9:30 p.m. Adding to the excitement, the performance will feature the prestigious Villa Maria Philharmonic Orchestra.
“It is an honor to share the stage with the Philharmonic in the context of our 100th performance of this theatrical and musical proposal that will feature guest artists,” stated Pedro Brignone, a member of the trio.
Tickets for this momentous occasion are already on sale at the Teatro Verdi box office (Yrigoyen 329).
Gabriel Ríos, director of the Philharmonic, shared his admiration for the trio, highlighting the dedication and hard work of the musicians as they prepared for this remarkable event.
A Festive Creole Mass Kicks Off Immaculate Conception Celebrations
To further enrich the city’s cultural scene, a special Creole Mass will be held on the esplanade of the Cathedral Church on Sunday, December 8th. This musical tribute will be performed by the renowned Kallpa folklore group. Following the Mass, celebrated by the Diocesan Bishop and followed by the traditional Torch Procession, renowned folclorico singer “Chango” Flores will take to the stage.
