Shaboozey’s infectious anthem, “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” has impressively maintained its throne at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for an astounding 17 consecutive weeks. This achievement sets a remarkable record in the 66-year history of the chart, as it becomes the longest-running No. 1 single ever credited solely to a single artist, eclipsing the previous record of 16 weeks set by Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night” earlier this year.
Although remixes of Shaboozey’s record, featuring renowned DJs David Guetta and Alesso, were released in April, they have yet to garner sufficient popularity to earn these collaborating artists any credit on the charts.
“A Bar Song (Tipsy)” now sits just behind Lil Nas X’s historic “Old Town Road,” featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, which led for 19 weeks in 2019 – marking it as only the second track in history to achieve such longevity on the Hot 100.
Shaboozey’s chart-topping track, which marked his first debut at No. 1 in July, now surpasses “Last Night” for the longest reign in the 2020s, solidifying its place as a modern classic.
Moreover, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” extends its dominance on the multimetric Hot Country Songs chart, boasting 21 weeks at No. 1, making it one of only eight songs to achieve such a milestone since the chart’s inception in 1958. Additionally, within the realm of songs that have triumphed on both the Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs, “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” now prides itself on being the longest-reigning track on the Hot 100, overtaking “Last Night.”
Tyler, The Creator’s “Sticky,” featuring GloRilla, Sexyy Red, and Lil Wayne, rises from 14 to 10 in the Hot 100, marking Tyler’s third entry into the top 10. All three tracks originate from his recently released album, Chromakopia, which continues to enjoy its second week at the top of the Billboard 200 chart.
The Hot 100 chart amalgamates a variety of metrics, including all-genre U.S. streaming (both official audio and video), radio airplay, as well as sales data—reflecting the purchases of physical singles and digital tracks from authorized retailers; note that digital singles sales from direct-to-consumer (D2C) sites are excluded from these calculations. Charts dated Nov. 16, 2024, will be updated on Billboard.com tomorrow, Nov. 12. Tyler, The Creator earns his second leader on this list, just a week after “St. Chroma” debuted at No. 1. Both GloRilla and Sexyy Red celebrate their first chart-topping moments, while Lil Wayne adds his third No. 1 to his collection.
