SG BBM Bietigheim disappointed in the cup exit – Baden Online

ThSV Eisenach moved into the round of 16 of the DHB Cup with a deserved 31:26 win over SG BBM Bietigheim. The newcomer was particularly disappointed with a weak first half and an 8:18 deficit at the break.

The game was a replica of the league game a good two weeks ago – only with the roles reversed. In the Werner-Aßmann-Halle in Eisenach, SG BBM led at the break with 20:12 and won in the end with 35:32. This time Bietigheim started erratically in front of only 350 spectators, produced technical errors in series and was not consistent in his shots, failing because of Matija Spikic in the ThSV goal.

The receipt came from ThSV Eisenach, whose body language alone showed that the sting of losing points in the league was deep. ThSV was leading 5-1 when Iker Romero called his boys to the sidelines for the first timeout after just five minutes. But Bietigheim still couldn’t find his way, and when the score was 5:15, Bietigheim’s head coach called his second timeout.

Romero had now made a complete substitution, with Daniel Rebmann and Nikola Vlahovic missing due to illness. At least the speeding elevator downwards stopped afterwards. Bietigheim now played more confidently, Eisenach continued to be powerful in its attacking actions. The gap at the break (8:18) was clear.

Then the Swabians’ best phase followed from a 9:20 deficit. With a 5-0 run, Bietigheim shortened the lead to 14:20. With 22 minutes left on the clock, the Romero boys at least showed that they wanted to fight for a better result. Then substitute Silvio Heinevetter stopped Bietigheim’s run with a series of saves in the ThSV goal. Up front it was Filip Vistorop with three goals in a row and Eisenach’s most successful thrower Peter Walz who kept Bietigheim at bay. SG BBM couldn’t get closer than five goals in the last quarter of an hour and won the second half 18:13. The mortgage from the first half – also a parallel to the league game under reversed signs – was too high.
