A former doctor in the Quebec region was accused of sexually assaulting a minor patient more than 20 years ago. He might have made other victims, fear the authorities.
Eugène Aubé was arrested on February 22 in connection with acts he allegedly committed in the course of his employment in the 1990s while practicing medicine in a medical center in Quebec.
Now 74, he appeared Thursday at the Quebec City courthouse to face charges of sexual assault and sexual exploitation of a patient who was then a minor.
The Service de police de la Ville de Québec (SPVQ) indicates, however, that the investigation tends to show that Eugène Aubé might have had other victims, in particular women.
“If you have been the victim of this individual, do not hesitate to contact 911 so that the police can meet you,” the police force said in a press release.
Mr. Aubé has not practiced medicine since 2009, the same year he was struck off by the Disciplinary Committee of the College of Physicians.
He was then found guilty of four counts, including prescribing a psychotropic drug to a patient without justification and having made an incorrect diagnosis detrimental to the health of another woman.
