Announcement
A former assistant to American actor Vin Diesel filed a civil complaint before the competent judicial authorities in the state of California once morest the star of the “Fast and Furious” film series, accusing him of sexually assaulting her, which the star vehemently denied.
Prosecutor Asta Jonasson explained that the assault occurred in 2010 in a hotel room in Atlanta, in the southeastern United States, during the filming of the fifth part of “Fast and Furious.”
Johnson stated that she had just been hired by the film team and was assigned to go to the hotel to help the actor leave early in the morning to avoid photo hunters.
The text of the complaint added that “Vin Diesel sexually assaulted her when she was alone with him in the hotel suite, and then he began to harass her, something that Johnson refused and she tried to break free from his grip.” The complaint also indicated that the actor then tried to remove her underwear.
The complaint also stated that the plaintiff, who did not want to keep her name secret, then tried to escape and hide in the bathroom, when Vin Diesel (whose real name is Mark Sinclair Vincent) followed her, and then the actor forced her to caress him before he assaulted her.
The complainant narrated that the actor’s sister and the director of the company that employed her, Samantha Vincent, informed her by telephone the next day that her services were being dispensed with.
Vin Diesel’s agent, lawyer Brian Friedman, said in a statement published by the specialized magazine “Variety” that the star “categorically denies these accusations.” The lawyer confirmed that it was “the first time he had heard” what was stated in this complaint, noting that the person submitting it “worked only nine days” for the actor 13 years ago.
Asta Jonasson said that the “Me Too” movement encouraged her to raise the issue, and she was able to file the lawsuit thanks to the California judiciary’s recent decision to extend the statute of limitations in cases related to sexual crimes.
Jonasson seeks compensation for damage and loss of an undetermined amount.
