They are enthusiastic regarding war and demand the death of as many Ukrainians as possible: There are now numerous ardent Kremlin supporters in Russia. Some of them now make an unpleasant discovery on their doorstep.
Three Russian war propagandists have severed pig heads found on their doorsteps. This is reported by the independent Russian exile newspaper “Nowaya Gazeta Europe” citing media close to the Kremlin.
According to the report, the propagandists are Timofei Sergeytsev, a columnist for the state news agency RIA Novosti, Mikhail Tereshchenko, a photographer for the Russian agency TASS, and military expert Konstantin Sivkov. Sergeytsev called for the killing of Ukrainians in an April 2022 article “What Russia must do with Ukraine.” He called for a “total cleansing” and “denazification” of not only the elite, but the majority of the Ukrainian people. Yale historian and Ukraine expert Timothy Snyder called his contribution a “genocide manual.”
All three publicists had apparently previously received threats. “I received a call threatening me with physical violence, making death threats and asking me to stop supporting President Putin’s actions,” Zivkov said. “So the enemy thinks that we are doing a good job, the highest praise is the enemy’s praise,” Russia Today quoted him as saying.
It is still apparently unclear who this enemy is. The police are currently investigating how RIA Novosti writes. According to Novaya Gazeta Europe, the courier who delivered the pig’s head to Tereshchenko was later located. He is said to have had four other packages of pig heads. It is unclear who sent these packages.
Already several attacks on propagandists
Since the start of the large-scale war of aggression once morest Ukraine in February 2022, there have been several high-profile attacks on Russian propagandists inside Russia. The war correspondent Vladlen Tatarsky was killed in a café in St. Petersburg in April. In May, Russian writer Zakhar Prilepin, who was close to the Kremlin, was seriously injured in a suspected car bomb attack. Another person was killed by the explosion.
Darja Dugina died in a car bomb attack in August 2022. This was probably aimed at her father, the nationalist hardliner and publicist Alexander Dugin. He is a representative of Eurasian imperialism; in a long article last summer he called for more “censorship and repression” in Russia.
