Severe Penalties for Drug Possession in Saudi Arabia: Protecting Society from Dangerous Menace

Jeddah: The Saudi Public Prosecution has announced that Saudi citizens and expatriates who were found to be in possession of drugs for consumption have been sentenced to two years in prison each.
The Narcotics Division of the Public Prosecution of Jeddah Governorate has completed the investigation process for possession of narcotics once morest the citizens and expatriates and transferred the case to the relevant court for further proceedings.

Under the provisions of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Control Act, the court sentenced the accused to two years in prison.
The Public Prosecution has warned that anyone found involved in drug offenses will be severely punished and the accused will be handed over to the relevant authorities.

The Public Prosecution also said that the concerned Ketithi will be asked to take punitive measures in the drug case to protect the society from the dangerous menace that threatens the safety and public health of the society.
