Several young women complain to Dampicourt: they think they were drugged without their knowledge during a party

This weekend in Dampicourt, in the province of Luxembourg, a ball was held which brought together more than 2,000 people. During this evening, several young women and teenagers claim to have been drugged without their knowledge. Some have decided to file a complaint.

Cholé, 19, takes our team inside the marquee which welcomed the revelers this weekend in Dampicourt (Rouvroy). “That’s where I fell“, she says, pointing to an area. She explains that she is convinced that she was drugged without her knowledge. “My head was spinning a lot. Then I started to feel nauseous. My friend arrived and I passed out in front of her“, she confides. “The paramedics took care of me, then I went to the hospital“.

These events are very difficult for the young woman to live with. “Mentally, it destroyed me a bit. ‘Cause I might have been used“, she tells us.

Other young girls contact me assuming they’ve been drugged

Saturday evening, more than 2,000 young people took part in an evening. On Sunday, to find out if there are other victims, Chloe’s mother launched an appeal on social networks. Very quickly, she receives several testimonies that challenge her. “Young girls who contact me. Who were hospitalized like Chloe, on the night of Saturday to Sunday. Other young girls who contact me assuming they have been drugged“, indicates Caroline, the mother.

The next day I had panic attacks all day

This Monday, several young women came to file a complaint with the police. We met another young woman. Éline describes what looks like a pill slipped into her drink. “A man came to ask us if we had drugs. We said we had nothing at all, but I felt the guy was very weird. I saw that in my glass I had a green stain. I immediately approached the people who were in the entrance, and they immediately took my drink and suspected drugs. That’s what I thought, there was something in my drink and it wasn’t normal“, describes the teenager.

As for Maeris, she evokes an injection. “The next day I had panic attacks all day, waking up and stuff. And I found a bite mark on my ass“, she confides to us.

Organizers and municipalities think regarding strengthening security

These testimonies are reminiscent of others: drugs poured into glasses in Ixelles, or injections in nightclubs in France. In Dampicourt, no sexual abuse reported, nor any particular phenomenon observed in the region. A specialist in drug prevention, however, calls for caution. “When you feel the first signs of effects that you do not control and that you have never felt, especially warn friends, relatives“, explains Boris Hermand, coordinator of the ASBL Drug’s care. According to him, the goal is not however to “fall into a psychosis“, but rather of “create a momentum of benevolence in a festive environment“.

How to strengthen security in Dampicourt? The organizers of Saturday’s event and the municipal authorities will look into the matter for the next festivities.

Chloe, for her part, says she needs a rest and intends to avoid parties for the time being.
