The American magazine specializing in the music industry Billboard published on Tuesday, July 2, the list of the best Latin music albums of 2024. The list includes five Venezuelans with three outstanding albums.

Billboard He explained that the 24 albums included in the list do not respond to a musical pattern but, on the contrary, show a musical variety in the Latin American scene.

Brothers Mauricio and Ricardo Montaner, sons of Venezuelan-Argentine singer Ricardo Montaner, ranked 14th among the 24 best Latin music albums of 2024 with Hotel Caracas.

For the production of their third album, Mau and Ricky returned to their native Caracas following 15 years of having left the country for Miami, in the United States. In the Venezuelan capital, they worked with producer Malay and were inspired by the music of their adolescence to create Hotel Caracas.

The album includes 15 songs such as “Vas a ruinasrme”, “Gran día” which features a collaboration with Puerto Rican artist Guayna, “Pasado mañana”, among others.

“It’s a fun ride from start to finish, full of nostalgia, humor and good vibes and, perhaps for the first time, it shows the level of music that Mau and Ricky are capable of making,” the post reads.

Lagos

The Venezuelan duo composed of Luis Jiménez and Agustín Zubillaga (Lagos) ranked 16th among the 24 best Latin music albums, according to the magazine Billboard.

High Fidelity, Lago’s second production is inspired by the 1980s, in which musicians describe romantic love from different stages of relationships.

The album has 11 songs and a 20-second intro. Among the songs, there is the collaboration they did with Venezuelan-American Elena Rose “Blanco y Negro; “No se acaba hasta que se acaba” with the Mexican band Reik; and “Si superamos esta noche” with the Colombian Greeicy.
