Still missing are British technology entrepreneur Mike Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter Hannah. They also include the president of Morgan Stanley International, Jonathan Bloomer, as well as the CEO of Lynch’s company, Chris Morvillo, and his wife Nada, reported the Milan daily “Corriere della sera”.

In June, Lynch was acquitted in the USA of fraud charges relating to the sale of his software company Autonomy. He was accused, among other things, of having falsely reported his company’s turnover. The Sunday Times estimated the former government advisor’s assets at around 587 million euros.

15 people rescued

15 people were rescued off the coast of Sicily on Monday morning, eight of them were taken to hospital. Among them was a British family with a young daughter who was able to escape. They were treated in Palermo hospital. The 50-meter-long ship with 22 people on board sank at around 5 a.m. off Porticello near Palermo. 15 people were rescued by patrol boats from the coast guard and the fire brigade, the authorities said.

On board the luxury yacht “Bayesan”, which was sailing under the British flag, there were mainly Britons, a New Zealander, a man from Sri Lanka, two Anglo-Frenchmen and an Irishman. Fire service divers rescued a one-year-old boy who was taken to the children’s hospital in Palermo. The survivors received medical treatment.
