So far, so good. The Regional Health Agency reveals the latest figures regarding the epidemic. The incidence rate remains stable. Currently in the department 0.2% of Côte d’Azur residents are contaminated.
Romain Alexandre is the boss of the ARS, the regional health agency, in the department.
The incidence rate continues to decline?
“We are very slightly above 200 to 210 today. At the national level, our incidence rate is at 182. Which means, as you know, that we are an extra attractive territory with many displacements. what you have to remember today is that as soon as you have the slightest symptom, you have to be able to get tested. I think that now we know all the recommendations.
What’s your plan?
“We are working on three scenarios. The first and I almost feel like saying would be the worst is if there is a new variant. The second scenario may be an epidemiological recovery, but the effectiveness of vaccines must be taken into account today. We also have a more optimistic scenario which would concern the protection of immunocompromised people.
Who do you offer vaccination to?
“Today, vaccination is recommended for people over 60, for immunocompromised people, for those around them. You really need to be able to get vaccinated. We have room for progress in the Alpes-Maritimes since over the age of 60, with a complete vaccination schedule, so the fourth dose for what is is around 30%.
