Several investment agreements signed in the Oriental region

Lhe signing of the agreement with the American group Aptiv, a world leader in the development and production of automotive solutions, will enable the completion of the first major automotive wiring project in the Oriental region, with an investment of 368 million dirhams and the creation of 3,000 direct jobs.

The APTIV group, present in Morocco since 1999 through 5 units, including three in Tangier, one in Kenitra and one in Meknes, with a total workforce of 15,000 people, has chosen the industrial acceleration zone of Oujda as the destination of implementation of their 6th project.

Six other investment agreements signed within the framework of the Sovereignty Task Force relate to industrial SME projects in the Oriental region, with an investment of 150 million dirhams and the creation of 525 new direct jobs.

It is :

  • three agreements in the agro-food industry with the pasta and couscous company Ennasr SARL for the production of pasta and couscous, the Yara Caroube International company for the production of processed carob, and the MMSS company, a shrimp shelling factory;

  • two agreements relating to the textile sector with the companies El Ghoul Import and Export and Nazafil for the manufacture of blankets;

  • the last agreement concerns the plastics industry with Vaincii Renewable Resources for the recycling of plastic.

“The various industrial sectors are currently experiencing (…) a real dynamic of investment, despite the difficult economic situation. Today’s event is a perfect illustration of this dynamic.

It also makes it possible to highlight the skills of the Oriental region, which is on the way to becoming one of the locomotives of Morocco’s economic development,” said Mezzour.

A final agreement was signed between the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Regional Council of the Oriental and the Wilaya of the Oriental for the creation and rehabilitation of 47 markets in all the provinces of the region for an amount total investment of 580 MDH.
