Citizens reported through social networks that in the afternoon the gas stations began to open after the blackout that occurred during the early hours of August 30.

Journalist Osmary Hernández reported that by 3:42 pm, service stations were restoring service. In a video posted on her X account (formerly Twitter) you can see a queue of vehicles at the Parque Cristal pump, Chacao municipality (Miranda).

The team of The Diary He confirmed that the Las Mercedes pump is supplying gasoline normally. The stations on Francisco de Miranda Avenue, near La California Norte, are also supplying.

In the morning, several gas stations in Greater Caracas were closed, those with power plants allowed vehicles to refuel.

Service stations in the interior of the country

At 11:21 am, journalist Madelyn Palmar reported that in the state of Zulia, there were long lines of cars to fill up with gasoline at the service stations that were active in the entity, according to the regional newspaper Final Version.

This same situation in Zulia was repeated at the service stations in Maracay, Aragua state.

According to the portal Barquisimeto Newsthe service stations in the capital of the state of Lara guaranteed the supply of fuel to users after the national blackout.

Despite the long queues at the pumps in Barquisimeto, users say they have managed to get ahead in order to fill up with petrol.

The closure of service stations

Citizens in Charallave, Miranda, indicated that service stations that supply gasoline at international prices are dispensing fuel.

Likewise, the service station located in Guaicaipuro, El Cabotaje sector (Miranda), is also active this Friday morning.

Journalist Lenin Danieri reported that in Maracaibo, Zulia state, there has been a collapse at service stations, since not all of them have alternative electrical power systems.

In La Guaira, drivers and transporters queued at some service stations in the state during the morning of August 30.

Special operation for surface transport

The Minister of Communication and Information, Freddy Ñáñez, reported that a special operation was activated for free surface transportation in Caracas and Miranda, due to the blackout.

“In Caracas and Miranda state, protocols have already been activated so that if you go to work you can do so with free surface transportation service. At the national level, the corresponding protocols for each of the states have also been activated,” explained the minister in an interview with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).

For his part, the Minister of Transport, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán, confirmed that the blackout affects the Metro and Ezequiel Zamora Railway systems.

Users on social media have also reported failures in service at some hospitals due to the blackout on Friday.

In Barquisimeto (Lara), the Central Hospital was affected because the power plant did not work, while the Ciudad Hospitalaria Dr. Enrique Tejera complex in Valencia (Carabobo) is working with the power plant, only to deal with emergencies.

In Maracaibo, dialysis units were also affected by the blackout. According to Danieri, some people left the health centers, while others are waiting for the service to be restored.

For her part, the director of the Victorino Santaella Hospital in Los Teques (Miranda), Mary Cruz Linares, reported that the intensive care unit (ICU) and operating rooms remain operational despite the national blackout. She clarified that a contingency plan was activated to deal with the situation.

Other reports on social media are related to the lack of transportation, mainly in the city of Caracas, where users have posted videos of people walking.

Likewise, some people report some businesses closed and others operating, since they have power plants.
