A NUMBER of countries have warned their citizens to leave Lebanon as tensions with Israel rise.
The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Beirut advises all Norwegian citizens to leave Lebanon.
The Irish government also said it “strongly advises all Irish citizens currently in Lebanon to leave the country immediately, while commercial options are still available.”
“Given the uncertainty of the situation, events could escalate across the country with little or no warning. This could impact exit routes from Lebanon,” the State Department said.
The US Embassy in Beirut urged its citizens to “closely monitor the status of their flights, be aware that schedules can change with little or no warning, and make alternative plans” after Lebanon’s MEA changed its flight schedules citing security concerns.
“The security environment in Lebanon remains complex and subject to rapid change,” he added. (Al Jazeera/Z-3)
