Following around thirty cases of children suffering from intestinal infections and diarrhea in schools in Peymeinade in recent days, as well as in Tignet or Saint-Cézaire-sur-Siagne, the Regional Health Agency proceeds this Friday to a water analysis.

As a precautionary principle, the town hall of Peymeinade and the Régie des Eaux du Canal Belletrud distributed bottles of water in the crèches, nursery and primary school of the village.

Cryptosporidium

It is the cryptosporidium bacterium which can be found in water, food and be transmitted by contact but does not present a serious risk, which is sought.

Pending the results of the analyzes expected in the coming hours, the population is advised to boil tap water for two minutes before consuming it, or even to prefer bottled water. “At this stage no epidemic alert has been issued” emphasizes the Water Board of the Belletrud Canal.
