Several bodies retrieved from rubble of collapsed shrine in Karbala

The death toll has risen to five following the roof of a shrine collapsed in Iraq’s Karbala province. Rescue workers recovered the bodies of five people, including a child. The search is on for those trapped in the debris.

“Four bodies, including that of a woman, have been recovered from a Shia Muslim shrine 25 kilometers from the holy city of Karbala in central Iraq. This brings the number of bodies recovered to five,” a civil defense official told AFP.

The roof of the Al Imam Ali Mosque in Qatar was damaged by a landslide on Saturday followingnoon. Many people are still trapped in the rubble. The emergency services said that three children were rescued on Saturday and their health condition is satisfactory.
