In China, this car debuted back in 2020 under the name Geely Haoyue. Two years later, a more advanced and expensive modification of the Haoyue L was introduced, and since then both crossovers have been sold in the Middle Kingdom in parallel. They are also not new in Russia, because for more than a year they have been supplied to us through “gray” channels, and in two versions at once. However, now the Haoyue L model has officially come to us under the export name Geely Okavango.
This is a large seven-seater crossover: length – 4860 mm, width – 1910 mm, height – 1770 mm, and wheelbase – 2825 mm. Its three-row interior has a seating formula of 2+3+2, with separate seats installed on the second and third rows, which opens up wide possibilities for transformation. When using all seven seats, the trunk volume is small (227 liters); if you fold the “gallery”, there will be 628 liters, and with the backrests of the second and third rows folded, 2360 liters are already available.
Of the entire Haoyue/Okavango range, we got the most complex version with an independent rear suspension, a two-liter gasoline turbo engine (200 hp, 325 Nm) and a seven-speed “robot” with two wet clutches. The rated ground clearance is 184 mm, but it is only front-wheel drive, because there are no 4×4 versions in the range at all. The maximum speed is 200 km/h, and the crossover with a curb weight of 1780 kg can accelerate to “hundreds” in 9.6 seconds.
Two configurations have been prepared for Russia. Already in the basic Luxury there are six airbags, ESP, heated front seats and steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, a media system with a 12.3-inch screen, all-round cameras, an electric driver’s seat, rear parking sensors and 19-inch wheels. Price – 3 million 450 thousand rubles.
The older Flagship configuration adds to this list electric drives for the front passenger seat and tailgate, front parking sensors, wireless charging for smartphones, a panoramic roof with a sunroof and a set of electronic assistants. Okavango in its flagship version will already reach 3 million 600 thousand rubles. Sales will begin soon.
