This this Wednesday, in Barranquilla and seven municipalities in the Atlantic ceased to be mandatory for the use of face masks in open spaces, taking into account that they exceed 70% coverage in complete vaccination schemes once morest covid.
This new measure was announced by the President Ivan Duque who indicated that it was arranged with the experts of the Epidemiological Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.
“With the Ministry of Health we have set a lineament. Those municipalities where vaccination exceeds 70% may lift the use of masks in public spaces. That will help us to meet the goal as a country,” said the Colombian president at the end of the opening of the Anato 2022 Tourist Showcase.
Duque explained that this measure was taken in accordance with the progress that the process has had in the country, which has 81% coverage of the population with at least one dose, while the complete schemes reach 65%.
