Mawani Qatar tweeted that in the first half of this year, it handled 700,000 TEUs at its ports in Qatar, of which 200,000 TEUs were handled at Hamad Port alone. In addition to this, 850,000 tons of general cargo and 260,000 tons of building materials will also be included, Mawani Qatar said.

Mawani pointed out in a report released by Qatar that from January to June this year, 38063 vehicles and 99268 cattle were handled at Hamad Port, Doha Port and Ruwais Port, and 1392 ships arrived at the port during the same period.

According to Mawani Qatar’s last year’s reports, Qatar’s ports handled nine percent more containers (1.57 million TEU) than in 2020. A 36 percent increase in transshipment in 2021 (562,539 TEU) has also been recorded during this period.

At the same time, Mawani Qatar recently stated that the increase in cargo movement at the Ruwais port on the northern tip of Qatar is very promising.

A 72 percent increase in container movement has been recorded in the three years from 2018 to 2021.
