Seven-hour surgery: Siamese twins separated

Riyadh: Siamese twins separated in Saudi Arabia Siamese twins were separated in Saudi through a seven-hour surgery in seven stages. The surgery was performed on the orders of Saudi ruler King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Officials informed that the surgery was led by consultants, expert nursing and technical departments.

After surgery, the twins were transferred to the pediatric intensive care unit. Head of Pediatric Anesthesia Department, Nisar Al Sughaibi, stated that the anesthesia phase went smoothly and all the advanced monitoring equipment was in place to ensure the safety of the twins. Under the leadership of Hanan Al Husseinan, the skin consultant doctor has also done plastic surgery. In the last 32 years, Saudi Arabia has managed to separate 127 conjoined twins from 23 countries.
