The fire broke out last night in a forest area and despite efforts it was not possible to contain it during the day.
According to the Turkish media, the flames reached the houses and two areas were evacuated. Due to the fire in Karşıyaka district of Izmir, 87 houses and 45 workplaces were evacuated and 16 houses burned in Yamanlar district.

In addition to the forest teams, the fire department, the police, the gendarmerie and the municipalities are also involved in the firefighting battle. The Ministry of National Defense is supporting the project from the air, the operation continues with 5 aircraft, 15 helicopters, 46 water tankers, 10 water tankers, 4 earth movers and 4 ground crews.
