Setter Dongil Hwang joins OK Finance as a trade… First V-League team experience

[아이뉴스24 송대성 기자] Veteran setter Hwang Dong-il (36) solved the last puzzle.

OK Financial Group announced on the 15th that “KEPCO has reached an agreement to trade with veteran setter Hwang Dong-il and young middle blocker Jung Sung-hwan (26).”

It is the 7th team of Dongil Hwang. Hwang Dong-il is the only player in the V-League men’s and women’s divisions to experience the entire team.

Among foreign players, Felipe Alton Bandero, who was called a substitute player, has been active in five clubs except for Korean Air and Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance.

Dongil Hwang was selected by Woori Capital (currently Woori Card) with the 4th pick in the first round of the 2008-2009 Rookie of the Year draft and entered the pro. However, shortly therefollowing, he was traded to LIG Non-Life Insurance (now KB Non-Life Insurance).

Hwang Dong-il, who made his splendid debut with the Rookie of the Year award, has since played 13 seasons at Korean Air, Samsung Fire & Marine, Hyundai Capital, and Korea Electric Power Corporation.

Dongil Hwang’s experience is expected to act as a positive factor for OK Financial Group.

OK Financial Group prepared for the season with only two setters, Kwak Myung-woo and Kang Jung-min, as Kwon Jun-hyung was out of the season due to a ruptured Achilles tendon.

Kwak Myeong-woo has experience leading to the championship championship, but Kang Jung-min is a rookie who graduated from high school last season, and there are still many things that need to be refined.

Hwang Dong-il, a tall setter, is a resource that can be used with various options such as a one-point server and a blocker.

Also, he is expected to boost Leo’s attack power by reuniting with Leonardo Leiva Martinez (registration name: Leo), who ate one pot at Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance.

Jung Sung-hwan, who will join Korea Electric Power Corp., is expected to add weight to the middle blocker line with a resource that has already completed his military service.

OK Financial Group coach Jin-wook Seok and KEPCO Manager Young-min Kwon said regarding this trade, “We expect that it will be of great help to the operation of the team by recruiting players in positions that need reinforcement. We would like to thank the players who are leaving the team for their dedication. tell,” he said.
