Recently interviewed by BT Sport’s Ariel Helwani, Seth Rollins spoke regarding his place in WWE. The former Shield member says he thinks he is in the shadow of Roman Reigns and the federation never saw him as a headliner. He tells us :
“Even when I won the title at WrestleMania with the cash-in, I always felt like I was in a secondary role to Roman Reigns. I always said to myself, ‘He’s THE guy and I am a substitute.’
I don’t think WWE ever considered me a headliner.”
The interviewer then asks him if he thinks he can become a headliner one of these four. Seth Rollins replies:
“I don’t know. I sometimes think it’s never gonna happen because I’m in the era of Roman Reigns. The only time WWE considered, I think, putting me in the Main Event of WrestleMania, it was when Roman Reigns had his leukemia and was away from August to January or February… I was in second place among the Babyfaces, behind him.
I figure the best thing I can hope for is to be the Edge in his Cena or the Savage in his Hogan. That’s life. I don’t think I’m worse than him, but it’s not me who decides.”
Seth Rollins concludes by saying he has a very good relationship with Roman Reigns and that the ultimate goal with the Shied was to see all three of them, including Jon Moxley, at the pinnacle of wrestling.
“Even when I won the title at #WrestleManiaI still felt like I was second fiddle to Roman Reigns.”
