Set speeds on highways and within cities to avoid accidents.. Know them

The articles of the current traffic law set out a set of provisions to prevent traffic accidents and to prevent driving at insane speeds for the driver of the vehicle, and set rules for traffic and specific speeds for them while on the roads, and these speeds include:

Inside cities:

40 km per hour for trailers and semi-trailers.

60 kilometers per hour for the rest of the vehicle types.

Within the residential, industrial and tourist clusters:

40 km for all types of vehicles.

– Highways or main roads that connect the governorates, and that follow the localities or the General Authority for Roads and Bridges:

– 60 kilometers per hour for locomotives for trailers and semi-trailer cars.

– 70 kilometers per hour for transport vehicles.

– 80 kilometers per hour for passenger cars.

– 90 kilometers per hour for the rest of the cars.

– desert roads

It is “Cairo / Alexandria – Cairo / Ismailia / Port Said – Cairo / Suez – Cairo / Belbeis – Alexandria / Matrouh / Salloum – Cairo / Fayoum – Wadi El Natroun / El Alamein”.

– 70 kilometers per hour for locomotives for trailers and semi-trailer cars, semi-trailers.

– 80 kilometers per hour for transport vehicles.

– 90 kilometers per hour for passenger cars.

– 100 kilometers per hour for other types of cars.

The law approved a set of speed standards in its articles, including:

Article (48)

The driver of the vehicle shall not exceed the speed within which he remains in control of the vehicle, and he shall abide by his speed as required by the condition of traffic on the road and the possibility of its visibility and the existing weather conditions and what is required by his condition and his personal ability and the condition of each of the vehicle, the load, the road and all the surrounding conditions, and he must be His speed does not exceed the amount that enables him to stop the vehicle within the limits of the visible part of the road. As for the roads that are narrow so that the opposite traffic may be exposed to danger due to speed, he must slow down so that he can stop within half of the visible part of the road. Article (49)

Vehicles may not unjustifiably slow down in speed in a way that impedes the fluidity of traffic.

Article (50)

Subject to the provisions of this regulation, the maximum speed of rapid transit vehicles on the roads shall be when appropriate conditions are available.
