‘Sesame Street’ actor Bob McGrath dies aged 90

American actor, Bob McGrath, best known for his role in the popular children’s show “Sesame Street”, died Sunday at the age of 90.

It was the actor’s family who announced the sad news on social networks.

“Hello Facebook friends, the McGrath family has some sad news to share. Our father, Bob McGrath, passed away today. He died peacefully at home, surrounded by his family”, can we read on the publication made on the page of the actor.

Known for his role as Bob Johnson in “Sesame Street”, he is, along with Loretta Long in the role of Susan Robinson, to have played a human character the longest in the American series.

He has also written several children’s books. In Canada, Bob McGrath contributed for 38 years to Telemiracle, a telethon broadcast annually on CTV channels in Saskatchewan. In 2006, the province’s lieutenant-governor, Lynda Hverstock, presented her with the Saskatchewan Centennial Commemorative Medal for her involvement. Then, in 2013, he received the “Saskatchewan Distinguished Service Award. This award was presented to him by then Prime Minister Brad Wall.
