“SE’s Anniversary Special: The Symbolic Team of the Century for Dynamo Moscow”

2023-04-17 21:00:00

Today the blue and white club is 100 years old. For the anniversary, “SE” made up the symbolic team of the century of the famous team.

It was an interesting challenge.

How to define a team? By statistics? It rarely reflects personal contributions, especially for defenders. Moreover, until recently, this science took into account only goals. According to a poll of fans/readers? But people can only judge those whom they have seen with their own eyes. Many will compare the strength of Blinkov and Maslov, Caesarev and Radikorsky? Virtually no one. There was a danger that Yashin and the stars of recent years next to him would be in the lineup, which, of course, is biased. Considering that until 1976 the club took 11 gold medals of the championship, and since then – none.

Lev Yashin. Stories of the Greatest of the Greats

Therefore, in my opinion, there was only one way out – to turn to veterans. To those who saw the game not only Yashin, but also his predecessor Khomich. Or Beskov. And also – he is immersed in the material as much as possible, he studied all his life (and still does) football history, primarily Dynamo.

The most experienced colleagues, as well as employees of the public press center, took part in the survey “Dynamo” – publishers and authors of books, magazines and pamphlets regarding blue and white. The chairman of the WFSO Anatoly Gulevsky recently presented most of them with a badge of honor “For loyalty” – “for a great contribution to the development of the Dynamo movement” (I was also pleased to be among the twelve awarded). These are Pavel Aleshin, Ovid Bazhenov, Aksel Vartanyan, Valery Vinokurov, Yuri Koshel, Sergei Polyakov, Yuri Shein and Mikhail Shcheglov.

Each of them named 33 best – three in each position. At the same time, the veterans suggested using the 4-2-4 scheme, since it best reflects the spirit of the golden times.

Lev Yashin. The goalkeeper of my dreams. The most truthful movie regarding a star

The choice was almost unanimous. If this is clear with Yashin, then it was a surprise for me that absolutely everyone (!) Named Caesarev, Krizhevsky and Sergey Ilyin in the first places. The same Krizhevsky coached me at the Dynamo school in the late 80s, I knew from my father that he was an outstanding defender, but I might not imagine that there were no competitors in his position for all the years.

3 points were awarded for the first place, 2 for the second, and 1 for the third, the results were summed up. As a result, the symbolic team turned out like this.

A few words regarding the best – to broaden your horizons.

Lev Yashin. There is nowhere to expand here: if you read the site or the SE newspaper, then you are definitely aware of the contribution Lev Ivanovich made to domestic and world football.

Vladimir Kesarev. He came to big football only at the age of 25, but there was no one better on the right in Dynamo defense for 100 years. Winner of Euro 1960 gold, although the final tournament had to be missed due to an attack of appendicitis. Three-time champion of the USSR.

Konstantin Krizhevsky. The captain and backbone of Dynamo in the 1950s, a flying defender, a four-time national champion, was among the best players in the USSR nine times.

Lev Yashin – the greatest goalkeeper in the world: rare and famous shots

Leonid Solovyov. Long-time captain of a great post-war team, a pillar of defense, a member of the famous Dynamo tour of England in 1945. Two-time champion of the Soviet Union.

Fedor Selin. The most popular Moscow footballer of the 1930s, captain and playing coach of Dynamo, a legend of the first decades of Russian football.

Valery Maslov. Man with two hearts. A legend not only of football, but also of bandy, where he became an eight-time world champion. The soul of any company. The only athlete who led the USSR national football and bandy teams to matches with the captain’s armband.

Vsevolod Blinkov. Hardy, hard-working and creative central midfielder with a well-placed shot. Member of the Dynamo tour of England, team captain, three-time champion of the country. Plus one gold – in ice hockey.

Vasily Trofimov. Fast, light and technical right winger. Champion of the country in three sports – football, hockey and bandy. Participant of the 1952 Olympics.

Mikhail Yakushin. Four times he took gold from Dynamo as a player – and six more times as a coach. The best scorer of the first championship of the USSR (spring 1936). He also became the national champion in bandy and ice hockey.

Konstantin Beskov. One of the heroes of that very legendary trip to England, where he made poker once morest Cardiff City. The leader of the post-war Dynamo, two-time champion of the country.

“That old devil Beskov drove around me …” The last trophy of Dynamo, the tragedy of Veretennikov

Sergei Ilyin. “He was my favorite football player, an idol, whose game has remained for me a model, a standard of the highest football skill,” said Gavriil Kachalin. A virtuoso and a nugget. Three-time USSR football champion. The same amount of gold in bandy.

Coach – Yakushin. Unconditionally the best. The cunning Mikhei led Dynamo to the championship six times. In Soviet times, only Valery Lobanovsky collected more gold from among his colleagues – eight.

Russian period

The symbolic Dynamo team for 100 years has turned out to be impressive. But she has only one drawback – for most readers, the names of the characters mean little. Of the players of the 21st century, only the Argentine defender Leandro Fernandez was named – he has one modest score.

Thus, the idea was born to make a separate national team for the Russian time – 1992-2023. And here, in order to exclude the choice of people who did not catch the game of Simutenkov and Tetradze, we also decided to outline the circle of respondents. It includes those who have closely followed Dynamo in the last 30 years. Journalists – Pavel Aleshin, Ovid Bazhenov, Alexander Boyarsky, Viktor Gusev, Dmitry Derunets, Sergei Polyakov, Sergei Chuev, Yuri Shein. Well-known Dynamo fans and authors of guest books are Alexander Oganezov, Pavel Demeshchik, Sergey Maslikov, Alexei Frenkel.

The principle is the same. Each named the top 33. 3 points for first place, 2 for second, and 1 for third.

Here’s what came out of it.

P.S. In some places in both national teams, the players are not in their optimal positions, but this is a necessary measure – so that the really strong ones get into the squad.

SE congratulates Dynamo on its 100th anniversary!
