Serving the archaeological areas in Giza.. 4 Information about the fourth metro line

Ministry implements Transport The fourth metro line project, extending along Al Haram Street, where this line provides service to the archaeological areas in Giza and the Grand Egyptian Museum, linking the far west of Greater Cairo to the far east, as well as accommodating the heavy surface transport movement on the route of the line such as the Haram area, and contributing to achieving sustainable development in the region Greater Cairo, and the elimination of the problem of environmental pollution.

In the following points, we review the implementation position of the project:

1. The western part of the civil works of the project (The Tree Gardens – Al Messaha), which is being implemented by the consortium of “Arab Contractors – Petrojet – Concord – Hassan Allam.” The stations from the tree gardens to the shooting station in the entirety of the area were handed over to the contractor, and from the Al-Ahram station to the Al-Massaha station. Partially delivered.

2. Works of the eastern part of the civil works of the project (surface – Fustat). Works are being awarded to Orascom Contracting, where the technical examination has been completed and the financial examination is underway.

3. As for the electromechanical works, railways and the workshop, a contract was signed to implement the works with the union of “Mitsubishi / Orascom” companies, and the contract entered into force, and design work is currently underway, and the work of supplying mobile units has been awarded to Mitsubishi.

4. Japan has provided a grant to finance the study of extending the first phase of the fourth metro line to the city of Paradise in the south for a distance of 4.5 km on the surface to serve the sectors of the 6th of October City located south of the Bahariya Oasis Road.
