At the site, according to what Epec spokesperson Alfredo Camponovo told Miter 810, a private crew broke a high-tension cable with a backhoe that affected the service in an important part of the city.
At first, the main problems were recorded in all the neighborhoods surrounding the Chacra de la Merced area, but then the outage spread. As the hours passed, the service was restored.
The cut also affected the provision of traffic lights on several streets in the Capital.
Camponovo pointed out that they were working to solve the problem but that it would take “a while” to do so.

“It is a complicated day but it is not a general problem. Since the electrical system is ringed, when one line goes out it overloads the rest,” he added.
Apparently, there are also reports of problems in the interior of the province, such as Alta Gracia, sectors of Villa Carlos Paz, San Antonio de Arredondo, Anisacate and Laguna Larga among others, according to users.
For now, Epec reports problems due to failure in high voltage lines in the towns of Los Surgentes, Cruz Alta, Arteaga and Baldisera cooperatives.
Problems were also reported in Villa Allende, Villa María, Marcos Juárez and towns of Santa María de Punilla.
